Wear it Purple Day

There was plenty of purple in shades of mauve, lavender and magenta and more in support of 'Wear it Purple' day on Friday 28 August. Many thanks to all that participated. We got the message out that MGSC is an inclusive and supportive community for rainbow young people.

Thursday 10 September it is R U OK Day. This year more than ever it’s important to check in on your friends and family. If you have a feeling that someone you know or care about isn’t behaving as they normally would for example, they seem more withdrawn, out of sorts, agitated or they’re just not themselves. Trust your instinct and act on it.

By starting a conversation and commenting on the changes you’ve noticed, you could help that family member or friend to open up. If they say they are not ok, you can follow the conversation steps to show them they’re supported and help them find strategies to better manage their feelings. If they are ok, that person will know you’re someone who cares enough to ask.

Bite Back is a free, self-guided online wellbeing and resilience program for young people aged 13–16 years old. Brave Program is an interactive, online program for the prevention and treatment of childhood and adolescent anxiety. The programs are free, and provide ways for children and teenagers to better cope with their worries.
