Term 1: Sports Report
On Monday, February 20th we had three teams compete in the Senior Interschool sport competition.
All teams were very competitive in their respective events. Our Boy's Volleyball team only lost one game for the day, going down narrowly in the deciding set to eventual winners Wellington Secondary College. The Girl's Volleyball team also only lost one game for the day against eventual winners John Monash College.
Our Lawn Bowls teams, despite having little experience, opened the day with a convincing win. They lost their next two games, however, the second match was a very close and entertaining one. Thank you to also students for their participation in these teams. We will be looking to register our Volleyball teams in the Schools Cup competition in May and build on the quality of performance shown in the Monash Division competition.
House Swimming Carnival
Well done to everyone who participated in our House Swimming Carnival on Friday, February 10th. We had fantastic weather for the occasion and had a number of students involved in either individual or House novelty events.
At the conclusion of the Carnival, Acacia recorded a convincing win, with Banksia narrowly finishing ahead of Waratah in second. 1. Acacia
2. Banksia
3. Waratah
4. Grevillea
Despite finishing 4th overall, Grevillea took out the win in our House chants. Congratulations to those swimmers who finished first in individual events and have qualified for the Monash Division Carnival on Tuesday, March 7th.

Strength and Conditioning Program
This term we commenced our Strength and Conditioning program with Grit Athletic Performance.
The first session was a testing/screening session, with data collected that will help measure progress, as well as develop programs specific to the needs of each student. Since then, students have been working hard on their programs in our weekly training sessions and showing noticeable improvement, particularly with their technique.

Interschool Sports: Senior Volleyball
Last Monday the senior students attended their final inter-school sports event for volleyball. We arrived at the stadium in the morning and started our first game. We always kept a positive and enthusiastic attitude throughout the day, as we won 3 games and lost one. We worked strongly on encouraging and uplifting each other as a team, together throughout all our matches. Overall, all the girls put in their best effort and had an amazing day.
