School Council 

SCHOOL COUNCIL ELECTIONS - CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Dear Parents, 

Nominations are now being sought to join school council. School council is a great way to contribute to our school and to put forward your ideas on how we can work together to make Mackellar Primary School the best school it can be. All parents are welcome to nominate and we certainly welcome new faces on council. If you are interested in joining school council please contact the office to receive a Self-Nomination form. If you would like to nominate a parent at our school to join school council you can also lodge a Nomination form on their behalf. 

School council meets twice per term at 5:30pm, and meetings typically go no longer than 90 minutes. All council members are asked to join a sub-committee which for the 2022 school year were: Finance and Governance, Buildings and Grounds and Education and Community Engagement. Sub-committees meet roughly two weeks prior to school council, the minutes/report of which is tabled for the council meeting. The time and date of sub-committee meetings is agreed by each sub-committees' members.

If you are eager to contribute but are unsure of what school council do, please click here to find out more.  We strongly encourage all parents to consider joining, as only with your help can we continue our improvement journey. Nominations can be made up until Monday February 27th at 4pm. If there are more nominations than positions available, an election will be held with further details to follow.
