Learning an instrument in 2021

Learning an instrument has many cognitive, social and emotional benefits.

In their study: A Population-Level Analysis of Associations Between School Music Participation and Academic Achievement (Journal Of Educational Psychology Online First Publication, June 24, 2019), Martin Guhn, Scott D. Emerson, and Peter Gouzouasis draw very strong links between music education and positive academic outcomes.

At NCS, we offer peripatetic music lessons for voice, guitar, brass, woodwind, piano and keyboard. Students are taught one-on-one by qualified and experienced private music tutors. Prices vary between teachers but are usually between $30 and $35 per lesson. Students are taught during school time for half hour individual lessons.
