Berthe Mouchette & Peer mediation reminder
This week, we received the 2022 results for the Berthe Mouchette competition. Amazing results across the school, we had about 80 students who were chosen as finalists. Congratulations to all!! The finals will be held on zoom on the 21st of August, if you have any further questions, you can ask your child’s teacher. Thank you also to the amazing teachers who helped the students in the SLC during lunchtime. Another quick reminder to Grade 4 & 5 students to sign up to the Peer mediation program, the training and interview process is going to start in the coming weeks. Peer mediation will be a great opportunity for grade 4 & 5 for students who want to develop their leadership skills and become student leaders in grade 6. There will be more info on the program at next week assembly.

Bastille Day
Yesterday, CJC celebrated Bastille Day with a special assembly, students had the chance to partake in many activities celebrating French culture and history. We shared this amazing day with students from Fitzroy primary school. Bastille day is the day the Bastille had fallen, ‘Prise de la Bastille’. It is also known as the French independence day. In the morning, we welcomed the Fitzroy students into our classes and had a chance to get to know them better. After recess, we did some fun activities before attending a whole school special assembly. We had a CJC former student, Eugene, who studies at Eton college in the United Kingdom as our guest. Eugene explained his life as a student at Eton College. We finished the day with the soccer clinic activities and bid farewell to our new friends from Fitzroy primary school. Our day ended with some delicious crepes and pain au chocolat prepared by our parent community. Thank to all those involved in preparing this amazing day.

Bonne lecture!
A beautiful story written by Grade 2 students from the CJC's French Binational Programme in collaboration with other French schools around the world, in France, Syria and Tunisia.
Here is our story:
We are in group 11. Enjoy!
In Grade 6, we started our revision and strengthening cycle on fractions. To revise the concept by manipulating and thinking, the students were put to the challenge of finding as many fractions as possible by folding a sheet of origami.
It wasn’t easy! Then, they had to create a bank of fractions that allowed them to exchange paper fragments between them… and review fractions equivalents and add them to build a shape with 25/6 for example.
