Parent Information Session Term 3

 

Dear Parents/Carers,

 

Welcome back to Term 3. This term, for our parent information session, we will be focusing on Mental Health. Our mental health practitioner here at JSA, Zoe Sharpe, has kindly accepted to facilitate this session. She will be focusing on delivering information about her new role here at JSA as well as some common practices on promoting positive mental health in our everyday day lives.

 

As times continue to be uncertain we will aim to deliver this session online via WEBEX. If you are interested in joining us for this session please send an email to Michelle Zammit on michelle.zammit@education.vic.gov.au and she will send you a direct link to the session.

Parent/Carer Payments 2021

The total cost for essential student learning items per full-time student will be $275 per year and pro-rata for part-time students (see table below). 

Essential Student Learning Items 

Parents/carers will be invoiced per child for items which may include:

  • Bike Education – helmets, repairs, new bikes
  • eLearning - iPads, computers, educational software & license
  • Curriculum – English, Maths, Personal Learning, Interpersonal Learning, The Arts, PE & Science, including consumables (stationery, laminating, sensory materials, reinforcers, schedules, PECs folders, visuals, personalised readers communication temptations, therapeutic resource etc. )
  • Healthy Living Program – breakfast, toast/sandwich making, afternoon tea, tasting different foods, making simple meals, equipment
  • Communication – Student Diary & JSA Year Book

Additional Education Items

Parents/Carers will be invoiced for the various additional programs and items which are based on the user pays basis.  These will include the following:

  • Excursions/Incursions – including cost of activity and entrance fees
  • Bus Travel costs
    • 10 - 20km journey  - $4.00 per child
    • 20 - 30km journey  - $8.00 per child
    • 30km plus journey - $12.00 per child
  • Life Education Van
  • TAFE
  • Travel Education

Voluntary Financial Contributions

We invite Parents/Carers to contribute towards the Playground Levy which is Tax Deductible.

 

The schools preferred method of payment is via Qkr! or EFTPOS.

Student Bus Transport

Due to the high volume of traffic currently on the roads, Mee’s buses can be running up to 10 minutes late. Please call Mee’s on 9459 3000 and they will be able to provide an indication of bus times.

Reporting Absences

 

A reminder to all parents/carers to please text the absence line if your child is going to be absent from school for any reason. Text their NAME, ROOM NUMBER, and REASON FOR ABSENCE on  0439 114 197. Thank you
