Debating Update

Hi All,

This Monday the 2nd of May, Craigieburn Secondary College participated in the 3rd Round of the DAV inter-school debating competition. The topic was "That the government should employ state artists (E.g. Poet Laureate)". Both Craigieburn teams argued to affirm this statement. The results are summarised below:

Craigieburn Secondary College 1 won against St Paul's Anglican Grammar School (Traralgon) 2. Bibi Fatima secured best speaker for this debate. Honourable mentions go out to her teammates Ashton Totoro and Majd Mosees. 

Craigieburn Secondary College 2 narrowly lost against Lavalla Catholic College 1. Honourable mentions go out to Shray Pandya, Stiva Shabah and Mirna Mosees. 

An especial thank you goes out to Natalie Taylor whose commitment to the cause has really helped to foster the debating talents here at Craigieburn Secondary College. 

The next debate will take place on Monday the 6th of June and the topic will be "That the ABC should only show Australian-made content". Craigieburn will be arguing to affirm this statement".
