Doctors in Secondary Schools

The Doctors in Secondary Schools program provides funding for Craigieburn Secondary College to have an adolescent health-trained GP and registered nurse attend our College once a week to provide medical advice and health care to all our students. The Doctors in School program is a free -Bulk Billing service. 

 

Dr Vajna Rafeek is at Craigieburn Secondary College every Friday from 10 AM – 2 PM. 

 

During class time the doctor is available by appointment only. At recess or lunchtime students can drop in to see the doctor with no appointment necessary. Please note: the doctor is not available during period 4.  

 

The doctor is a great place to start if you are concerned or needing help.

 

Services Include: 

 

· Information or advice about any health issue.

· Medical and Health check-ups. 

· Information or advice about your physical wellbeing.

· Healthy eating and exercise advice.

· Advice on relationship issues.

· Asthma Management & Action Plans. 

· Mental Health & Wellbeing. 

· Sexual Health. 

· Vision Checks. 

. COVID-19 vaccinations and (16+) booster vaccinations

· External referrals to other health services.

 

Suman Ale (Registered Nurse) attends the College along with the doctor. Working in collaboration with Doctor Vajna, Suman can also assist students with a range of different health advice and services.
