Community & Communications

The Community and Communications page is a new addition to our school newsletter.  My name is Christine Pillot and I have the new role of Community and Communications Manager; I will continue to work and support across the school and school council, with the new focus on communicating with the internal and external school community.

At the Bundoora Campus I will be the initial point of call for all enrolment enquiries and coordinate the DET Program for students with Disabilities funding applications and reviews.  I will continue to manage all of the work and volunteer placements across the school, update school policies and various other documents.

Next year we will welcome a new administration Education Support staff member, Karen Jordan, with the title of ES Community and Communications.  Karen will assist me with the administration side of the role, specifically with the new enrolments to the school.

The Community and Communications newsletter page will provide school event dates and updates, along with school policy updates when these are ratified through school council each month.

Today as I write this article I have been recently reminded of our extremely talented dancers in the Secondary 9-10 learning area, with their performance in the 2016 Victorian State School Spectacular.   Watching the televised broadcast last Saturday showcased the event highlights; out of three thousand plus performers, the seven Concord School students involved were filmed and onscreen a number of times throughout the high caliber performance.   If you missed this event  you can simulcast the show via livestreaming on the PLUS7 app and it will be available on the PLUS7 catch-up website for 30 days.

It is the time of year that many of our students prepare for their graduation.  This is a very exciting time for our grade 6 and year 12 students and their families as they prepare to embark on the next journey of their life.  The Secondary Graduation is on tonight in our school gym at 7pm and the Primary Graduation is on Wednesday 14th December at 12.30pm, also in the school gym.

On Tuesday 20th December at 9.15am will have our end of year assembly in the school gym.  Family and friends are welcome to attend this assembly where our annual student awards will be presented and our 2017 school captains will be announced.

I look forward to catching up with many of you at our annual school Christmas Concert next Monday, 12th December.
