From the Principal

Letter to Parents - Coronavirus

Firstly I would like to say thank you for your support in this very difficult and daunting time with the Coronavirus. It is so important that we keep in touch and support each other. Please feel free at any time to contact me by phone, at school or by email if you have any questions.

As you are aware schools will remain open at this point in time, as we are providing an essential service to the community. However it is recommended that if possible you keep your child / children at home.

I can guarantee you that there will be a teacher at school to care for your child / children every day. I cannot guarantee that it will be your child’s teacher. I have teachers who are at risk health wise and cannot come to school, teachers who need to self-isolate and teachers who need to care for their children at home.

As you are aware everyday sees changes to how Australia is operating and the school will keep you updated on the changes that affect us at St Patrick’s.

On Monday the teachers put together a package of work that the children could do at home for the remainder of Term 1 in the event that schools should close or families were to self isolate. Your child’s teacher is available to answer questions by email spwadmin@arm.catholic.edu.au or contact the school on 67772328 and we will assist you.

A school day at home is different to a day at school, it should consist of approximately 3 hours of academic work each day. English, Math, Religion, with work from one of these KLA's PDHPE, Science/Tech, History/Geo & Creative Arts each day. A suggested time table could look like the following but it is entirely up to your family situation.

If the current situation continues next term the staff will work on setting up the Google Classroom platform and also continue the paper packages to assist the children to continue their school work from home.

Thank you once again for your support and please keep safe during this very challenging time.

Sincerely  Belinda
