A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

This is my last newsletter, ever!
It has been a wonderful, fabulous challenge to be principal of Dandenong Valley. Whilst I am very happy and excited to be retiring my feelings are tinged with an odd sort of sadness, I will truly miss this school community especially the students and my colleagues.
COVID-19
This is however not all about navel gazing I have some important information to share. There is a lot of information in the news media about the current pandemic. Lots of it is misinformation or just plain confusing. If you want accurate up to the minute information especially in regard to the pandemic’s effect on schools please use the following link, it is accurate and updated daily. https://www.education.vic.gov.au/about/department/Pages/coronavirus.aspx
LEARNING PACKS
As you know school holidays started early this term. Very few of our students attended on Monday and the holidays started on Tuesday. Those students who were at school took home a learning pack and some information about what will occur in the event of a school closure. For those of you who did not receive your pack please be advised that they will either be delivered to you or made available for pick up from school.
SCHOOL SUPPORT
Families can expect contact and support from the school during any school closure. Teachers and therapists will be available by email and phone. The learning packs will be updated if the closure becomes prolonged.
I truly hope we all come through this crisis, stay well.
Best wishes for the future
Cheers Sue
