TheirCare News

Hi parents, guardians, staff, and friends!

We continue to welcome all new children and families to TheirCare this term and we are very happy to be getting more children each morning and afternoon. We are excited to be meeting more and more of the brilliant people in this beautiful FWPS community!

During Week 2 we have been excited to welcome more children back to Their Care. This week our mornings have been quiet apart from Tuesday when we had 38 children in attendance. Our afternoon numbers have been going up with Tuesday reaching 80 children, and Wednesday and Thursday having over 65 children in attendance. We are also seeing a growing number of prep children attending TheirCare with 19 preps attending on Tuesday afternoon!

This week our theme was friendship as we wanted to focus on positive and friendly relationships when we attend TheirCare and always remember how we treat others. This week there has been a strong focus on crafts and getting the children to show their creative imagination. We started off the week by creating friendship frames out of mosaic tiles and paddle pop sticks which turned out awesome and so colourful. During the mornings we have been creating and decorating friendship cards that the children can give their friends or even family members. On Tuesday afternoon we had a lot of fun creating cool designs and pictures with ironing beads. The kids always love the ironing bead activity as they are always excited to show their parents their cool creations. Continuing with the friendship week theme, we have been encouraging more group games activities by using the gym as much as we can in the morning. We have also seen children solving puzzles together and creating group artwork in the morning. For the rest of the week, we are planning to create friendship bracelets and necklaces which are going to be a lot of fun.

This week’s Pupil of the Week is Aycan Anderton for always being the first to offer help, and for always helping younger children in activities when she notices them struggling.

Well Done, Aycan, you should be so proud of yourself!!
