Parent Feedback Request – Recess and Lunchtime swap

The College is seeking feedback from Parents/Carers on the possibility of swapping the time around so that the longer lunch time occurs after Period 2 and the shorter recess occurs after Period 3.

As it currently stands, recess is relatively short and we have many students who rush the eating process or leave their food because they are prioritising their time outside.

As recess is not until 11:36am students tend to eat their lunch, or part of it, at this time because they are very hungry.

Wholesome food eaten at recess time will benefit the capacity of students to use this as fuel for their body and improve learning. Research indicates that food eaten at breakfast and late morning is beneficial to students in fuelling their body to create the energy they need for their learning.

A survey will be circulated via Compass and if you would please take the time to fill out the survey questions we will use the information to inform our decision making process.
