Year 3/4 News

Fun Friday Olympics

Students have been enjoying learning, watching and participating in the Olympics. It is not every day that the Olympics is happening, so we are glad that the students have been able to recognise and understand what a wonderful event it is! Bring on Brisbane 2032!

CAMP WYUNA 2021

On 2nd to 3rd August 2021, seventy-six Year 3/4 students headed to the coastal town of Queenscliff to attend Camp Wyuna.

Students participated in a range of activities including Archery, Beach Games, Wild Water Sling and Pizza Dough Making. They roasted marshmallows and participated in a sing-along around the campfire. Students also attended the Marine Discovery Centre, in which they participated in hands-on activities including exploration of the rock pool.

A little snippet of the sing-along...

A Roosta Sha, A Roosta Sha, A Roosta Sha Sha Hey!

Some student feedback about Camp…

Sienna P

My favourite part was roasting marshmallows and singing songs around the campfire!

I think that it was a great opportunity to be away and look after ourselves!

Olivia S

I am so grateful that we were able to go to Camp Wyuna during Covid. I had so much fun and would love to go back again!

Ethan P

I had so much fun at camp! You put a smile on everyone’s faces!

Georgia E

Thank you for hosting my very first camp. I had experiences that I will never forget!

Huxley A

I loved the camp! The food was yummy and the beds were so comfy that I actually had a good night's sleep!

Aidan G

It was an amazing experience, I enjoyed playing in the Gaga Pit and beach volleyball!

At Home Maths

Arrays allow us to see a visual representation of repeated addition or multiplication. For example, in an egg carton, we may see 2 rows of 5. We can think of this as 5+5 or 2×5.

To further support an understanding of arrays and continued practice of times tables, we have included 'Array Capture.'

Continue to encourage ongoing practice of times tables. Singing is a great way to make it fun!
