THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND ENGAGEMENT IN REMOTE LEARNING 2.0

This year has been an extremely challenging one and the only way that we will continue to provide our students with the best possible learning and wellbeing support in the coming weeks and months is to continue to work together in a positive way.

Learning looks quite different once again in Term 3, however students will still be provided with wonderful opportunities to learn and stretch themselves. An ability to persist and work through challenges and the ability to manage your own learning are vital attributes to have during school and work life. Remote Learning asks this of students, parents and teachers and provides us with an opportunity to grow in these spaces.

Learning is not a place, it happens everywhere, at any time, so no matter how challenging the landscape may appear, we are determined to provide the best opportunities we can for all of our students from P-10 to continue their learning journey outside the four walls of the classroom.

We have learnt a great deal from remote learning 1.0, as have our students, which is why the start of remote learning 2.0 has been so much more positive for many of our families. In partnership we need to continue to try new things, take risks, experience failure and most importantly continue to change, adapt and grow. 2020 continues to throw up challenges but I know we will come out on top at Merbein P-10 if we continue to work together!

I would once again remind families that at this time it is more important than ever to regularly check Compass and our College Facebook page to ensure you have the latest information pertaining to Merbein P-10 College. We are totally committed to keeping you all informed of current changes and arrangements, but without students being onsite this is the best way possible to communicate.

MILDURA AIRPORT COMPETITION

Congratulations to Matilda Smith who has made it through as one of the finalists in the design a caravan competition. Students had to create a design that will decorate the new Mildura Airport garden cafe. Good luck Matilda.

REMOTE LEARNING VIDEO CREATIONS

Fairy Tale Tableau

Task: Choose a fairy tale.

Work out what the main parts of the story are, then create a tableau (freeze frame) for each part of the story using either people in your family, toys, or characters you have made yourself.

You should photograph each freeze frame and use it to make a storyboard.

Students may also use stop motion to create their adaption of a well-known fairy tale.

The following 2 videos are an example of this work.

The 3rd video is a documentary from one of Miss Lyell's Primary students.

REMOTE LEARNING PICTURES

We have pictures sent in by parents of students remote learning.
