Ballarat Y5/6 Camp 2019
As a Fisher Team, we all acknowledge the challenges students face being away from home, however we place high value on the experiences and positive outlook towards their future life.
'Towards the end of their primary school life, students always reflect on the many amazing experiences they have had throughout their time at LNPS - most of these revolve around school camps.'
Our roles are to encourage as many of our students to participate and to support our families with the expense associated with camps. Please speak with our office staff to arrange a payment plan so that financial constraints can be overcome.
All attending staff have Emergency First Aid certification and are familiar with the requirements for the administration of medication specified on students' Health Care Plans. While we welcome offers of parental support on school camps, we sadly cannot guarantee attendance as this often depends on numbers of attendees and staff to student gender and DfE required ratios.
While some students may miss families (probably not as much as they are missed), not enjoy the catered food, return sick or totally exhausted (through lack of them going to sleep when they're told to) or all of the above, we guarantee that we didn't pay for the smiling, happy faces that you see in the images above!

Students at LNPS appreciate that some schools restrict their school camps to Year 7 only, while some schools don't have camps at all. We are extremely fortunate to have a dedicated Fisher Team who are always willing to exchange time away from their lives and families to ensure the tradition of having camps continues.
Year 7 Camp to Yorke Peninsula
We will once again be partnering with Wilderness Escape to deliver a rich and exciting camp for our Year 7 cohort. The Year 7 camp to Hillocks Drive, Yorke Peninsula will provide opportunities for our students to develop confidence, organisation, and resilience and continue to build onto the school’s Values and Keys to Success. Having the camp during Term 1 allows our students to reconnect with each other and give them the opportunity to set up and establish new friendships early in the year.
The Hillocks Drive camp is a 4 day / 3-night aquatic-based tent camping program. During the program the students will participate in the following activities: Surfing, snorkelling, fishing, coastal walk, rock pooling, Star gazing at night, following part of the 'Walk the Yorke' track, a survival-based raft building team challenge named ‘Castaway’ and a beach Olympics on the final day to promote teamwork, respect, and collaboration skills.
The four day camp will take place in Term 1 Week 8 (Tuesday 17/3 - Friday 20/3). The total cost for this camp is $400 for the three nights and four days, the camp includes an Aquatics component. This will be a savings as the children will not attend the Aquatics programme at West Lakes in 2020.
We are offering payment by payment plan, or pay in full. All payments can be made at the front office or through the Qkr app. Payment must be made by Friday, 13th March (Week 7)
If support is needed to fund camp or to manage payments over a longer period of time, please contact Micki Cooke to negotiate terms. We will always find ways to ensure our students are able to participate in the wonderful learning experiences provided through camps.
Y4/5/6 Camp for F10-F13 Students
We have had a terrific response to our possible Canberra Camp and following next week's deadline for expressions of interest we will investigate this as an opportunity. We are currently investigating options about a camp for other students in Years 4/5/6 within the Fisher Building and will send home more information as soon as we have it available.
