Big Band Blast - Stage Band 1

On Friday 27 May Stage Band 1 travelled to Port Macquarie to attend the Big Band Blast. Students were welcomed with a concert from Jimi Jazz Orchestra, The Sydney Conservatorium Jazz Orchestra, and the Big Band Blast Trio. On Saturday, the students attended an improvisation workshop, listened to other schools' performance, and performed in the main auditorium. Stage Band presented a brilliant performance with solos from Jethro, James, Will, Luca, Harry, and Mitchell. That night students watched Anita Thomas and Ed Wilson perform along with The Australian Army Jazz Band. On Sunday students attended instrumental masterclasses and enjoyed more Jazz. It was a fantastic weekend filled with lots of music. Congratulations to Stage Band 1 for an amazing trip.
