Principal's Report

Dear families,

It was wonderful to see so many parents stay for reading last week, it was reminiscent of pre COVID. 

LONG WEEKEND

Hopefully all families will have the opportunity to enjoy the long weekend. There is no school on Monday 13th March. 

EASTER RAFFLE

JSC have decided to run an Easter raffle with a proportion of the profits going toward the Royal Children’s Hospital Appeal. Tickets are available for purchase on Qkr!

HEADLICE

Please take the opportunity over the long weekend to check your child’s hair. We have had several reports of headlice across the school.

POKEMON CLUB

Starting next Wednesday the 15th March, JSC will run a Pokemon club in the Tutor Learning Room at lunchtime. Students are welcome to bring their Pokeman cards and play during this supervised  session. 

NAPLAN 

NAPLAN commences next Wednesday for Grades 3 and 5.  All students will be completing the Writing assessment on Wednesday, Reading on Thursday and Language Conventions on Tuesday 21st. Grade  3 will complete Numeracy on Wednesday 22nd and Grade 5 on Thursday 23rd. 

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING

Throughout the week staff have been attending numeracy professional learning. For those parents with younger students, they referred us to a site called Numeracy at Home Suit where there are every day activities which you can do with your children. https://www.numeracyathome.com/11-ways-to-maths
