WELCOME TO 2020
Welcome to the 2020 school year! To all current families, welcome back. A particularly warm welcome to our new Kindergarten students their families and new staff. We welcome you to the St Patrick's Family and hope the start of your journey here at St Patrick's is a happy and a fruitful one.
We look forward to working with all our beautiful children in 2020, it promises to be an exciting & successful year at St Patrick's. Specific targets & strategies have been set by the staff in our 2020 Annual Improvement Plan which will ensure we achieve our goals.
The children have made a great start to the school year. We have spent time this week talking about school expectations. We have set high standards for 2020 with manners, conduct, wearing school uniform and working in class to the very best of each students' potential and allowing teachers to do their job - which is quality teaching.
The staff thank you for your support in helping us to maintain these standards across our school community by ensuring all children present each day in their full St Patrick's school uniform and that good manners are reinforced at home.
WALCHA RACES
Friday 7th February Half Day Holiday
Walcha Race Day this Friday 7th February. This is a half day holiday. Buses will collect students at 11:25am, other students need to be picked up at 11:30. School will be closed from 11:30am.
Opening School Year Mass -10th February
Our Opening School Mass, this Monday 10th February in St Patrick's Church beginning at 10.00am. Our new School Captains and House Captains will have their badges blessed by Monsignor Ted and be formally commissioned. All parents, grandparents and friends are welcome to join us for this Mass.
Swimming Carnival Tuesday 18th February
We are looking forward to our Swimming Carnival on Tuesday 18th. Please return all notes & money for the carnival by this Friday 7th Feb please.
Parent / Teacher Evening - 25th February
You will have an opportunity to meet your child's teacher and discuss expectations at our upcoming Parent / Teacher Evening scheduled for Week 5 -25th February at 5:30pm. Please come along as it is important that school and home work together for our children.

Kindergarten Meet & Greet Cuppa on Monday
The school hosted a cuppa for any Kindergarten parents who needed Tea or Tissues on Monday. Thank you to Vanessa Arundale from the P & F for meeting and greeting the parents.
P&F Meeting - 17th February
Our first Parent Association Meeting for 2020 will be held in the Library on Monday 17th Feburary at 6.00pm. We warmly welcome all parents to come along and become involved in this important facet of school life, especially our new Kindy parents! We look forward to seeing you there.
St Patrick's Music Program 2020
Next week sees the start of the Year 3/4 Wood Wind and Percussion Group. In week 5 Mini Minstrels will begin, with the music program extending to include the Primary classes this year. We look forward to the Yr 5/6 class who will be learning the Recorder. The recorders were donated to the school by the Rural Aid program.
Mrs Flanagan
Mrs Flanagan will be taking three weeks leave to care for her husband who is having major surgery next week. She will be replaced by Mrs Sarah-Jane Hoy. Please keep Mr Flanagan in your prayers for a speedy recovery .
