Celebrating Success

On Tuesday 7 June, we will be holding our first CHAMP assembly for 2022. It will be great to once again, be able to celebrate those students who have demonstrated their commitment to being Respectful, Responsible and Successful. We have a massive 115  students who will be receiving an award at this assembly including 75 Bronze, 39 Silver and 1 gold award. A link will be sent to parents on the morning of the assembly, for those who wish to watch the live-stream of this assembly. Congratulations to all of our CHAMPs!

Semester One Reports

During the coming weeks, Semester One reports will be published on the Sentral portal. After reading many reports, I have been impressed with the hard work, dedication and resilience shown by so many of our students. These qualities are evident in the fantastic grades and comments from teachers, and I am sure that parents will be very proud.  It is important that students read and take notice of the feedback from their teachers and use these reports to set goals for improvement in Semester 2.

Parents will receive an email when their child’s reports are available. Please ensure that you have registered on the Sentral Student Portal and that the email address registered with the school in current.

Parent Information Session

Our next Parent Information Session will be on Monday 6 June at 6:30 pm. The focus of this session will be on the different pathways available to students as they progress through their senior high school year and into further study or the workplace. Parents will hear from the Senior Executive and members of the Careers and Transition team, about the pitfalls to avoid, some of the different options available to students and will get clarification on some common misunderstandings in relation to the HSC.

This session will build on the wonderful opportunities that have been provided to students in Years 9 to 12 and will be valuable to parents of students in all year groups, to assist in planning for future directions,

'Which Way Now' - upcoming event

Information will be provided on the options available to students after Year 10 including:

School
The Australian Qualifications Framework
Vocational Training
Work Pathways

The meeting will take place online via Zoom.  The Zoom link and password will be emailed to parents during the day on 6 June 2022.  Parents should ensure their current email address is registered with the school.

Keeping safe this Winter

As we move into winter, NSW Health and the Department of Education would like to remind all parents, carers and the school community that now is the best time to protect your children against viral illnesses such as the flu and COVID-19 by staying home if unwell and getting vaccinated. We urge all parents and carers to please keep your children at home if they are unwell

Protecting your family from the flu and COVID-19 this winter
Flu and COVID-19 can be serious illnesses, even in children and teenagers. Both viruses can spread quickly when large numbers of people are in close contact, such as at school.

More people of all ages will be at risk this winter with international borders reopening, increased social mixing and lower exposure to flu over the past two years. Both the flu and COVID-19 are already circulating in the community, so it’s important that you don’t put off vaccination.

Everyone aged 5 years and over are recommended to get a COVID-19 vaccine, and everyone aged 6 months and older are recommended to get vaccination against the flu. Vaccinations are available through GPs and pharmacies, and you can get both vaccines at the same time.
