Community Engagement Sub Committee Report
Our newly formed Community Engagement Sub-Committee of School Council meets monthly in the weeks before School Council. The purpose is to deal with all things Community; discussing aspects of involvement, parent, community participation across the school, and linking Parent Reps to the School Council. At our last meeting we looked at the Volunteers Policy providing information to update within the cycle.
The Sub-Committee is also wanting to develop a Parent Skills and Volunteers register as many schools have such a register. The purpose would be to access the skills and support of the community. Please consider adding your name and skills to the register.
If you are wanting to be part of the Community Engagement Sub-Committee we meet on a Monday after school (4pm) in Kerri’s Office. The next meeting is Monday 18th November (Please note there are no School Council meetings held in October). All interested welcome to attend.

School Council Meeting 26th August 2019 Report
School Council had its first meeting for Term 3 on Monday 26 August 2019.
As always, the reports from the sub-committees were presented. The sub-committees are Education, Environment and Sustainability, Community Partnerships, Junior School Council and Resources.
Councillors examined the Annual Implementation Plan Mid-Year evaluation which will be presented to the community later in the year. This document is a ‘traffic light’ style document which reflects the work to date that has taken place in the school.
Next week, Jack’s Paddock will be a building site as the builders will begin creating the structure that we discussed earlier this year. After the building of the structures are put up, we will plan community working bees and all hands on deck welcome!
The Year 2 sleepover is planned for Friday 25 October 2019 in Term 4 and we have just had a successful swimming program for the 5/6 students, with many children taking part.
J.S.C. is supporting the Cancer Council as the chosen charity for the monies raised from the Fun Run this Friday 30 August.
The next meeting is on Monday 16 September 2019. As always, parents are welcome to join any of the sub-committees, please see later in this newsletter for dates and times for each sub-committee.
