Greeting
Greeting

First of all, as a newly appointed person in this role, I wanted to express my sincere gratitude to the members of the JSA community for their support and kind words as I lead us in the areas of Curriculum Development, Assessment and Reporting in the years ahead.

In Term 2, our JSA students have returned to school establishing their familiar classroom routines. Now that each student’s Personalised Learning Support Plans (or PLSPs) have been established, our teachers, and in some respects, our students have a clear direction of their learning journey for the year ahead. Families will have an ideal opportunity to discuss these goals and other key priorities with their child's teacher at our upcoming Term 2 Student Support Group meetings to be conducted between Weeks 4-6 (May 10th-May 27th).

Beyond existing goal setting for our students, for the next 3 weeks, your child’s classroom teacher will be conducting our annual ABLES (or Abilities Based Learning and Education Support) assessments to identify your child’s given strengths and abilities, plan for necessary program adjustments and to effectively engage them in their learning journey.

In the latter half of Term 2, your child's teacher will be collating a range of assessment data to formulate our Semester 1 Reports. I will be providing further information regarding these reports in our next edition.

I hope that you, our JSA families, enjoyed a safe and restful holiday break.

Let's have a great Term 2!
