A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Hi everyone,

CAMP TIME

As I write this newsletter item we have some of our junior students enjoying a camp at Garfield. We had two groups of seniors return from Tootgarook accessible house camp one this week and one last week and recently transition students had a ball at Queenscliff where they stayed at the Big4 caravan park in cabins.

Camps are wonderful for our students to develop their independence and social skills but the staff who go report they love camps because they see the students interact and respond so differently than they do at school.

A SPECIAL THANKS

I want to thank all the staff who have put up their hand to give our students this wonderful opportunity. As I have said before there is no overtime paid to school staff, no bonuses and no time in lieu. The staff do this out of a deep dedication to the well- being and development of our great kids. The staff take time away from their own families and responsibilities to do this and I thank them from the bottom of my heart.

PERKS OF THE JOB

If you have ever wondered why I do this job have a little look at the principal award winners this week particularly the picture of Antonio and I.

Cheers Sue

PS as of Friday this week there are 47 sleeps until the jolly gentleman visits the good girls and boys!!
