Principal's Report

What a fantastic fortnight it has been here at Twin Rivers.

It has been exciting to celebrate home reading with students as well. Many students of a morning are sharing their Home Reading Diaries with teachers, parents, and buddies. We have many students counting down until they receive their books for 50 nights, 75 nights and 100 nights of reading and I heard a whisper some students are quickly approaching these milestones.

One of our whole school foci is on writing, so it is lovely to see students being so engaged every day with their reading to support their writing journey.

Traffic

We are continuing to talk with students in relation to road safety.  We have noticed before and after school that Wilkinson Drive and Coliban Street are getting busier and busier. There are many students taking risks when crossing the road. If parents are dropping children off, we encourage you to walk them across the road to ensure their safety. With the noise and busy traffic, students are hesitating, and this could end up in an accident.

We also have several students riding their bikes/scooters without a helmet and taking risks at the roundabouts. Please have a chat with your child about ensuring their safety. Helmets are compulsory when riding bikes and scooters.

Safety of our community is of the utmost importance to us.

Please do not enter the service driveway into the main entrance of the school. This driveway is for the ETRSS buses. This is not for our school community to use during pick-up and drop off times. We thank you for your consideration and co-operation with this.

School Wide Positive Behaviour Update

It has been fantastic to see so many students receiving our Wally stickers every week. Wally stickers are the cornerstone of our positive behaviour acknowledgement system. As students accumulate these stickers, they can choose from a range of rewards.
