Certificate III in Music Performance (CUA30920)
VET Music is a performance-based subject that caters for all types of musicians. This program allows students who are already able to play an instrument or sing to work in a variety of group and solo situations to devise and produce their own performances. There are also opportunities to compose, record, and improvise. Students develop their confidence performing and gain knowledge and skills in varied contexts within the Music Industry. VET Music is a Scored Subject which contributes to the ATAR score. Students also receive a Certificate III in Music Performance at the completion of the program. VET Music is the only VCE Music option at MSJ.

Neve Portelli - I wanted to have a VET certificate to add to my resume at the end of school. I enjoy it being at school as it is more applied. You learn about standards and advanced procedures in a workplace that is relevant to every business. Tasks are very different and include getting out of your comfort zone. To not waste your time during class and stay on task as they are short sessions so the workload can build up very quickly.
Certificate III in Sport & Recreation
SIS30115 Certificate III in Sport and Recreation: provides students with the skills and knowledge to work in the sport and recreation industries. In Units 1 and 2, students can choose from a range of electives to create a program of their choice, including sport specific activities, conducting events, outdoor recreation or fitness programs. Units 3 and 4 offers scored assessment and includes core units such as plan and conduct programs, risk assessment, and conduct coaching with foundation level participants. Employment opportunities reflect roles such as recreation officer, activity operation officer, sport and recreation attendant, community activities officer or leisure services officer.
