Principal's Notes

A note from the Principal

Hi everyone

Today we welcomed Year 7-10 students back to school to join our staff members and senior students. If ever a day was suited to staying home in front of the heater it was today but that didn’t stop our hardy school community from arriving in number.

As always, thank you to staff, students and parents for the remarkable work completed this year. Amazing resilience has been shown and remarkable flexibility also. We should all be incredibly proud to be a part of this school community; I am proud of the efforts of students, parents and my staff members- and proud of this school!

Thank you to those who have taken the time to contribute to this week’s edition of ‘Connections’.

I am sure you will enjoy this week’s edition. ‘Five questions’ is rapidly becoming my favourite section as it offers a brief look into the lives of students and staff members. Interesting that the place in the world Harry Easom would most like to be is a tank museum in England! Congratulations to Mrs Dell for the ‘staff member of the week’ award – well deserved, and congratulations also to each of the ‘student of the week’ nominees and recipients.

We intend to retain the newer format for our school newsletter, with more insight into the individuals who make up the Healesville High School community so please feel free to contribute from your perspective as a parent, student or staff member. We will revert to a fortnightly schedule now that we are back on-site and I welcome parent contributions – how did you celebrate the end of remote learning, for example?

Best wishes everyone, stay safe.

Allan Rennick
