Welcome back

A very warm welcome back to everyone at the start of term 2. A special welcome back to Adele Freeman who returns after a period of family leave.

Room 2

We welcome Jane Ryan to Room 2. Jane will continue as the classroom teacher until the 12th of May, whilst the process to appoint a teacher to Room 2 continues. Jane is an experienced teacher with many years of experience including a number of years spent teaching at Moonee Ponds West.  We will ensure that the families of students in Room 2 are kept informed of the outcome of this process.

Anzac Day

 

Anzac Day next Tuesday April 25 is a pupil free day. Monday the 24th is a school day.

Parent/Carer Enrolment Tours for children commencing school in 2018

 

The 2018 Foundation year enrolment tours for parents/carer begin on Monday and will continue through to August. Please contact the school office or visit the school website for further information. Sibling enrolment documents will be available at the office from Monday.

Emergency Drill

 

A  Lockdown drill of the school took place on Tuesday this week as part of our OHS planning process.

3/4 Camp Sunnystones

The first of three camps for the grade 3/4 children will commence next week. We wish everyone all the best for what is indeed an exciting time.  Thank you to all staff for their ongoing commitment to ensuring the academic and social emotional education of the children of MPW is indeed a lived experience.

Group 3: Rooms 16, 7 & 8 (Year 3 students).

Mobile Phones

 

As per our Acceptable Use policy, a reminder to parent/carers' who wish their child to bring a mobile phone to school that they must advise the school via letter. The responsibility of the phone lies with the student and must not be used during the school day.

Parking around the School

 

As the term commences, and the weather turns to more inclement and the daylight hours diminish, a reminder to  take extra care when driving and/or parking near the school. A further reminder that the drop off and pick up zones are not parking zones. Illegal parking and unsafe parking practices put at risk the safety of children and members of the school community. If you have any questions or wish to discuss matters of concern please feel free to contact the City of Moonee Valley.
