5/6 Living & Growing (Sex ed) Parent Information Night

Dear Parents and Carers of 5/6 students,

We are inviting you to participate in a parent information evening about the Living & Growing program from Sex Education Australia that all 5/6 students will be a part of over the next several weeks.

Jenny Ackland from Sex Education Australia will be running the parent session from 7:00-8:00pm this Thursday, 22nd August. We invite all parents of 5/6 students to attend this session.

Students in years 5 and 6 will begin the program the following Thursday, 29th August, so it is important that families are aware and prepared for the learning that students will undertake throughout the program.

We look forward to seeing you on the night.

P.S.

If you also have a child in 3/4, that program will not begin until November, and there will be another parent information session specific to the 3/4 program.

Book Fair

3rd - 6th September 2019

Dear Parents and Families:

Reading for pleasure unlocks the power of information and imagination and helps children discover who they are. Here’s what you can do to help children develop stronger reading skills and a love for reading:

  • Set the example. Let children see you read.
  • Have a collection of books in your home. Update this collection routinely to keep up with changing tastes and reading skills.
  • Support our school’s Book Fair. Allow your children to choose their own books to read.

The theme of our Scholastic Book Fair is Dino-Mite, where we hope you will Stomp, Chomp, and Read! A fun reading event brings the books kids want to read right into our school. It is a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. Please make plans to visit our Book Fair and be involved in shaping your child’s reading habits.

Book Fair dates:         Tuesday 3 to Friday 6 September, 2019

Shopping hours:         Library open until 4.30pm every day

Special activities:   Open night will be Thursday 5 September from 6.00pm to 7.30pm

We look forward to seeing you and your family at our Book Fair! Remember, all purchases benefit our school.
