Father's day Edition

Father's Day

This Sunday we celebrate Father's Day (or as I call it Father's Day Weekend). I'm sure all our beautiful children have a 'gift from the heart' prepared for their dad, grandfather or special person in their lives.

Normally we would host our own Father's Day Breakfast but since we can't, why not have your own special brekky at home!

May I suggest you begin with a perfectly brewed cup of tea or coffee for dad while he peruses the daily paper. Follow this up with a hearty serve of bacon and eggs or a warm toasted ham and cheese croissant (ahh! the mouth waters in anticipation)  and finally a selection of fresh fruit to refresh the palate.

Whatever you choose, I hope you all have a wonderful day.

By the way... just because you are not here doesn't mean we can't celebrate our dads with our traditional tribute so here goes... Happy Fathers' Day!

Weird and Wonderful Wednesdays:  Jump Rope & Olympics Day (www. jumprope&olympicsday)

On Wednesday we celebrated www.jumprope&olympics day, the third installment of our Weird and Wonderful Wednesdays.

We began with a whole school virtual assembly where we celebrated our Jump Rope for Heart achievement in raising an incredible $7691 for the Heart Foundation! Thank you so much for your generosity and a huge thank you to our top fundraisers (below).

Throughout the day there were heaps of fun and engaging activities for children to showcase their skipping skills and 'play around' with some Olympic themes.

A huge thank you to Mrs Brittney Wohling for orchestrating the event and to Mr Lane for all the 'behind the scenes' tech work required to ensure all activities loaded correctly.

Weird and Wonderful Wednesdays: Corpus Christi Spoonville & Art Day (www.corpuschristispoonville /artday)

Hi everyone. It's been fantastic to see the enthusiasm and involvement of the school in our Weird and Wonderful Wednesdays. Our last fun day is coming up next Wednesday 9th September. It will be called the CCK Spoonville and Art Day

This will be a day filled with as much art as you can handle. It will provide opportunities to work individually and collaborate as a family too.

There will be 2 MUST DO activities and 9 other CAN DO activities. The only preparation you will need is to have lots of paper, colouring materials and crafty bits and pieces.  AND You will also need to have at least one wooden kitchen spoon handy (or if you wish to represent more people in your family you can collect a couple).

If you can't get your hands on one from home you may like to walk past the school, during your one hour of daily exercise, and collect a spoon for each child from the tubs located at the front near the school office.  These will be available between the hours of 8:45am - 4:00 pm .

If Mums and Dads are going to get involved pick one up for them too. We have about 250 up for grabs (first in first served).

We will begin with a whole school Assembly (cckassembly) at 9:00am where you will get a run-through of the day and then you will go and choose your activities. You should now all be familiar with the presentation of the day through your Google Classroom and how to access activities.

There will be some Meet times available to meet with me to ask questions (cckart). Mrs Cuni will be live with a fun activity and then you will meet with your class teachers at 2:00 pm for a  Show 'n' Tell.

Your work will need to be uploaded to your level's gallery where you can view each other's work. Teachers and I will use this gallery to view the work and decide on winners for some art prizes given out to each class.

The winners will be announced via the newsletter so make sure you upload all the work you do to be in the running.

We are all looking forward to another fun day as we near the end of this crazy term.  Looking forward to seeing all the masterpieces.

Years  Prep - 6  Learning Conferences

Please be advised that our  Year Prep-6 Learning Conferences (Parent/Teacher Interviews) will be held in the last week of Term 3 as follows:

Year Prep: Thursday 17th and Friday 18th September

Years 1/2: Monday 14th and Wednesday 16th September

Year 3/4 S: Monday 14th and Wednesday 16th September

Year 3/4 H: Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th September

Year 5/6: Monday 14th and Wednesday 16th September

This is all of course on the assumption that we will continue with remote learning for the last week of this term.

Learning Conferences will be conducted online through Google Meet. Families are to use our regular booking system to book a time and will access Google Meet using their student's G-Suite account. The meeting code will be your child's student number, for example, 200568. Every child knows their student number as they use this to log into the Google Classroom.

Simply open Google Meet (through your child's account) at your interview time, enter the student number and your teacher will be waiting for you.

To book an appointment you will need to go to www.schoolinterviews.com.au and enter the event code of jx59u. Bookings will open at 9:30am MONDAY  7th September.

For it all to work smoothly everyone must be on-time. We have allowed for a 15 minute meeting time and a 5 minute changeover period.

The days of the Learning Conferences will NOT be School Closure days. Students will be set with independent work tasks and pre-recorded teaching sessions to be accessed as normal through their Google Classroom.

It is understood that Premier Daniel Andrews is providing us all with a COVID-19  'pathway out of restrictions' on Sunday so should anything change affecting the running of these conferences we will notify you on Monday morning.

Have a wonderful weekend

Stay safe and God Bless
