Every Face Has A Story... Listen!

This fortnight the students have been working on a self-portrait collage activity which is inspired by a collection of sculptures done by 9 indigenous female artists from Alice Springs. Their collection is called Every Face Has a Story, Every Story has a Face; Listen! and is 9 life-sized sculptures which are made with textiles.

The students explored what the title of their sculptures could mean and came to the conclusion that every person has their own experiences and stories they can share.

The students are now creating their own self-portraits using textiles. When they are completed the students will also write a story about themselves or an experience they have had and attach it to their self-portrait. When the artworks are displayed, students and teachers will be invited to read these stories shared by their peers.
