Grade 2

What a great start to 2023 Year 2 have had! We are so proud with how the grade 2’s have settled into the new year and classroom. 

Last week we started our new ‘Talk for writing’ unit where the children enjoyed a special ‘bear hunt’. They had to follow clues and footsteps to the final location on the oval where the ‘We’re going on a bear hunt’ book and teddy were waiting for us. 

We drew the story map together and have come up with actions for the whole story. The students have been doing an amazing job of presenting and performing the actions for their peers and small groups. 

Next up we will be innovating sentences from the book focusing on how to add extra detail. We can’t wait to see their writing develop over the course of the unit. 

If you have a child in grade 2, ask them to do the actions to the story for you!
