A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Hi Everyone,

As this term comes to an end I want to wish all our families a safe and happy holiday.

Update information

Term 3 has been long and cold with many illnesses for both students and staff. Our recent case of mumps in the school highlighted that we have a lot of families who have not updated their child’s immunisation history with the office. The admin team have sent out letters to all those families, and I too am asking you to please update this information. Also, if you have recently changed your phone number or wish to modify your emergency contacts can you please update those details too?

Teacher communication

It has recently come to my attention that some parents and carers are calling to speak to teachers during the school day. I have asked the office to take a message and the teacher will call you back as soon as they can. This is to prevent interruptions to the teaching program and to enable the teachers to have a short 30 minute break in the middle of the day. Often teachers will ring back during their lunch break, if not, they will do so after 3pm. As always Judy, Michael and I are available any time to discuss any pressing issues.

Party  Party

Third term has seen many highlights.  Our school community celebrated thirty years on this site in Victoria road with a great birthday party followed by an open day. The birthday party theme continues into our concert next term and I hope you all come to party, party!

Photo book

Families will be receiving their child’s photo book soon. These books are a reflective journal of what your child is learning at school. I really hope you enjoy them. I have seen most and they are lovely. Please try to “read” this book with your child and talk to them about what they are learning.

Movie ticket winner

Thank you to all the families who took the time to fill in our parent opinion survey. On Tuesday afternoon Kelly (mother of Amy) drew the lucky winner of our $100 movie voucher and this year the winner was the family of Shabeer, one of our foundation students.  We all really hope you enjoy a family trip to the movies!!

Footy day

The term will end with one of my favourite days in our school year….it’s footy day! Students and staff have a great time dressing in their footy gear and participating in the activities. Please don’t forget that the school closes an hour early on the last day of term so you can expect buses an hour earlier than usual.

Have a great holiday,

GO TIGES!!!

Cheers

Sue
