A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

Brain Olympia

Last Thursday, we held our third St Joey’s, Brain Olympia Competition for the primary students. The students worked in teams to answer general knowledge questions, solve challenging Maths Problems, present a speech and create an entertaining skit. All the teams had fun, worked cooperatively and learnt something new!

Congratulations to the students who delivered the speeches: Alex Davis, Archie Mc Namee, Olive Dillon, Dani Cortis and Billie Peach. Dani was the overall winner of the speech section.

Congratulations to the 'Einsteins team' for a very clever adaptation of the Three Little Pigs in the Drama section.

The winning team included: Joel, Archie, Jack, Mason, Logan, Rosie and Harold.

Special Principal Awards also went to Alex, Billie, Dani & Zack.

Finally,  good luck to the students selected to represent our school in Tamworth next Wednesday:   Abbie, Jack, Charles, Ayla, Olive, Archie, Alex and Rosie. Mrs Bartholomew will be supervising the team.

School Attendance

It is not too late to improve your child’s attendance at school this term. I have been monitoring attendance carefully all year and a number of our students need to lift their attendance rate. Our goal is to have all students with at least 90% attendance. At this stage only 52% of students are on track to meet this goal. We can do better as a school. With the warmer weather, hopefully there won’t be as much sickness. Please remember to inform the school via compass if your child will be away from school.

PT & F Meeting

I hope you can join us for our PT & F Meeting via zoom which will be held at 6.30pm TONIGHT.

Book Fair

I am looking forward to seeing the amazing costumes from our students at our annual Book Fair this Thursday from 5.00pm - 7.00pm. Rain Hail or Shine this event will go ahead!

Have a fun week
