Japanese

Kaori Bawden

In grades 3 to 6, we started a new unit called Yokai. We have been revising colours and shapes, including body parts and adjectives using this Yokai unit. Yokai are a type of monster that is often featured in scary Japanese folk stories. There are many types of Yokai, some more scary than others and a few of them are even sort of cute! Yokai are basically the results of how people tried to explain mysterious phenomena back in the olden days.

I am always impressed by the creative drawings from students' work and learn a lot from them. Hope you enjoy our great artists' drawings, there are more coming in the next newsletter.

Please do not hesitate to ask any questions or suggestions to the Japanese class!
