Principal's Report

Term 2, Week 9

Dear Parents and Carers,

Amazingly, we have almost reached the end of Term Two!

SEMESTER 1 REPORTS

It is that time of year when the semester progress reports will be sent home to parents illustrating student achievement in the classroom. The class teachers have been hard at work over the past month completing these reports, and they will be made available to parents via Compass next Monday 26 June at 3.30pm. Please ensure you have your parent login details for Compass prior to this date to be able to access your child's report. If you have misplaced these details, please contact the school front office.

LIVING WELL, LEARNING WELL

PARENT INFORMATION SESSION

All parents and carers are warmly invited to join us tonight at the Living Well, Learning Well parent information session in the Library from 5.30pm. The session will provide an overview of the Living Well, Learning Well framework, our strategies from a school improvement perspective to implement the framework and some advice for parents and carers in supporting your child's social and emotional needs.

KINDERGARTEN 2024 INTERVIEWS

This week I am holding interviews for our 2024 Kindergarten cohort. It is always lovely to meet new families and prospective enrolments for our school as well as have the opportunity to talk about the fantastic staff, students and families here at St Francis Xavier's. Once again, we have strong interest in enrolment which is a great reflection on how wonderful our school community is.

SACRAMENT OF COMMUNION

Congratulations to the students from St Francis Xavier's who received the Sacrament of Communion for the first time yesterday. They all looked very grown up in their outfits! Thank you to Mrs Rily, Mrs Hardy, Miss Langfield and Miss Mackey for their work in preparing the communicants for this important celebration.

ATHLETICS CARNIVAL

Preparations are well underway for our school Athletics Carnival next Thursday 29 June. We are excited to be able to host our carnival here on the school site which will help us with the logistics of setting up the carnival and keeping everyone onsite. We are still chasing some helpers for timekeeping.  Please contact the school office if you are able to assist at all on the day. A schedule of events will be sent home early next week.

NAIDOC Week

Next week is also NAIDOC Week. We will be hosting a short assembly on Monday morning to begin the week.  Our main NAIDOC Week Assembly will be held under the COLA on Friday 30 June at 12.00pm. All students are invited to come to school dressed in NAIDOC colours - red, yellow and black. The assembly will include some traditional dance and music performances. We will also be presenting some awards at this assembly as well as the ribbons and trophies from the Athletics Carnival. Parents are invited to attend the assembly and stick around for some lunch on the lawn. A sausage sizzle will be available for all students and parents.  The canteen will be closed for lunch on that day.

PUPIL FREE DAY

There will be a Pupil Free Day on Monday 17 July. Staff will be engaged in professional learning onsite on this day.

Term Three commences for all students on Tuesday 18 June.

Have a great week and a restful holiday break!
