Year 9 Art

Students in Year 9 Art have been working to further their understanding of Studio Process this term by exploring, developing, refining, resolving and presenting an Art Book with a chosen theme. Students began their exploration by practicing with the ‘Zine’ technique, looking at a source of inspiration and proposing their individual projects. Students are now moving into the development stage of their process where they are trialling materials and subject matter drawings.

“In year 9 art we have demonstrated a variety of different skills from simple drawings to carving and printmaking. We have a lot of freedom in what we draw/create. Art is a subject I have enjoyed for a very long time and I have learnt many new skills for practical art and about how and why art is created.” – Satya Bradford.

Year 10 Food Technology

Food Around the World explores the cuisine from other cultures as well as providing students with an understanding of nutrition. Throughout the semester students have been exploring, designing, preparing, cooking and evaluating various foods from around the globe.  For this task, students choose a country to research before cooking a dish inspired by the culture of that country.
