Year 9 NAPLAN Certificates
A new feature of the NAPLAN assessment is being launched this year, with the award of Year 9 Certificates of Achievement.
The new certificates aim to celebrate and recognise the importance of both excellence and learning growth.
Beginning in 2021, Year 9 students who achieve outstanding results or who significantly
improve their results in NAPLAN tests will receive a NAPLAN Certificate of Achievement.
The certificates will be awarded for two categories of achievement:
- Category one: the achievement of excellence through getting a result in the top band for reading or numeracy, or both.
- Category two: the achievement of outstanding learning growth through improve by two or more bands between the NAPLAN Year 7 and Year 9 tests for reading or numeracy, or both.
For more information about the new certificate and measures for learning growth, refer to Year 9 NAPLAN certificates of achievement on the Department’s website.
Anaphylaxis/Epipens
All students who are diagnosed as being at risk from an anaphylactic reaction must provide the school with an Individual Management Plan from the treating medical practitioner and a current adrenaline autoinjector (epipen).
We ask all parents and carers to ensure that the school has current information and an epipen to be stored in the College Admin Office in case it is required.
Canteen payment options
In line with changes in the DET policies on mobile phones students are no longer permitted to use their mobile phones to pay for items at the College canteen.
Bayside Canteens have engaged with Flexischools to add cashless money to your student's Sandringham College ID Card to pay for items from the school canteen. Flexischools cashless card system links a students’ existing school ID card to their Flexischools account, allowing them to purchase securely without the need for cash. Instructions on setting up an account are below.
- Set up a Flexischools account online and pre-load the account with funds.
- Students make purchases at the canteen by scanning their card at the tablet terminal in the canteen.
- Parents can view their students’ purchases online and can set a daily spending limit.
Get Started with Flexischools. How to set up an account linked to your student's school ID Card:
- Register for Flexischools by visiting www.flexischools.com.au. Add your student, their school and Year Level to get started.
- Add money to your account via Visa, Mastercard, PayPal or direct deposit.
- Add the student ID card by selecting the student. This is located on the ‘My Students’ page under the link used to start an order. Enter the number from your child’s student ID (ABCD12340) card and click ‘save’.
- Set a daily spending limit in your student profile to control spending via cashless card.
- Student pays with cashless card and funds are debited from your Flexischools account.
