COVID Update

After making numerous phone calls in the last week, it is very frustrating and we are not the only school in the Tablelands cluster who still haven't receive our third instalment of our allocated rapid antigen tests as yet. We are still waiting for the final instalment of the rapid antigen tests to arrive, which is very frustrating!  I have contacted the CSO as well as the courier company that is meant to be delivering our consignment and hopefully our tests will arrive in the very near future! Fingers crossed! We still have around thirty packs of nasal rapid antigen tests here at school. If you would like one of these packs, please contact the school. At the moment, I do not know what types of rapid antigen tests will be arriving soon. I do hope they are the tests that require a mouth swab.

Please remember, these tests are to be used only if your child is displaying any symptoms associated with COVID.

Unfortunately, as mentioned in the media, COVID cases are again on the rise, especially with a new sub variant of the Omnicron strand. As you know through the a number of alerts that have been sent, we still have a number of positive COVID cases in our school community.

Even though restrictions are starting to ease, we still must be vigilant to ensure that we continue to minimise the spread of COVID. Any student or staff member who is unwell and/or displays symptoms of COVID-19 must be asked to go home and stay there until they can complete a RAT or PCR test. If a student or staff member displays even mild COVID-19 symptoms, they must take a RAT or get a PCR test and isolate until they receive a negative test result. Students must not come to school until they are symptom free, even if they get a negative RAT result. If unfortunately, your child has contacted the virus, please contact the school immediately.
