As we approach the end of another exciting year, we find ourselves in the midst of an important period for our Unit 3/4 students. The upcoming break offers a valuable opportunity for our senior students to take some well-deserved time for themselves, rejuvenate, and prepare for the final term ahead. This final term is of paramount importance as it sets the stage for their future endeavours.
The upcoming term marks a crucial period for our Unit 3/4 students. It is during this time that they will be preparing for their final assessments, refining their knowledge, and consolidating their understanding of the subjects they have studied throughout the year. The results achieved in this term will have a significant impact on their future educational endeavours, including university admission and career choices.
While it is important to devote time and effort to academic pursuits, it is equally crucial to remember that taking care of oneself is vital. Our students have been working diligently, balancing coursework, extracurricular activities, and personal commitments. The break provides them with a well-deserved opportunity to recharge, reflect, and rejuvenate before they embark on the final leg of their Unit 3/4 journey.
Here are a few suggestions for our students to make the most of their break:
Remember, this final term represents the culmination of your hard work and dedication throughout the year. It is an opportunity to showcase your knowledge and skills, and to demonstrate your growth as a student. By taking care of yourself during the break, you will be better equipped to face the challenges that lie ahead.
We wish all our Unit 3/4 students a restful and rejuvenating break. May this time be filled with joy, self-care, and moments of reflection.
We look forward to your return, fully charged and ready to conquer the final term.
G10 SUMMIT
The G10 Summit, a remarkable careers day exclusively designed for Year 10 students, proved to be an extraordinary event filled with inspiration and guidance. Unfortunately, we seemed to have planned the day on the coldest and wettest mornings of the year. This ultimately led us to the cancellation of the Welcome to Country smoke ceremony that was originally planned. The subject selections and careers expo provided invaluable information to assist students in making informed decisions regarding their future studies, ensuring they are well-prepared for their academic and career paths. The G10 Summit empowered the Year 10 cohort, instilling belief in their abilities and setting them on a path toward success.
However, without a doubt, the highlight of the event was the appearance of Australian football legend Eddie Betts, who shared his inspiring journey with the attendees.
Eddie Betts, a renowned Australian Rules Football player, captivated the hearts and minds of the summit attendees with his personal story of overcoming adversity. He openly discussed the challenges he faced, including experiences with racism and discrimination. His message of perseverance resonated deeply, urging everyone to embrace diversity and contribute to fostering an inclusive society.
During his talk, Betts emphasised the transformative power of inclusion, using captivating anecdotes to illustrate how embracing differences and working together as a team can lead to success, both on and off the field. The students were captivated by his words, which extended beyond sports and emphasised the significance of inclusion in all aspects of life.
Education and empathy were central themes in Betts' presentation. He highlighted the vital role of schools and educational institutions in shaping the mindset of future generations. Betts encouraged students to actively learn about different cultures, religions, and perspectives, fostering empathy and creating a compassionate society where every individual feels valued and appreciated.
As a school community, we express our sincere gratitude to Eddie for his time and powerful message. Let us embrace his words and work together to foster inclusivity and empathy within our own school and beyond. By celebrating the uniqueness of each individual, we can create an environment where everyone is respected, valued, and empowered to make a positive impact.
ATOSS survey
We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the students who participated in the ATOSS survey (Attitudes to School Survey). This annual survey aims to provide students with a platform to express their thoughts and feelings about their school experience.
The ATOSS survey is an essential tool for us to understand how students perceive their educational environment and identify areas that require improvement. By comparing the results against state-level data, we can gain valuable insights into the strengths and areas where our school can grow further.
The survey covered various aspects, including academic engagement, school climate, resilience, attitudes to attendance, teacher concern , and overall satisfaction. It not only allows students to voice their opinions but also helps us gather a comprehensive understanding of their experiences.
Thank you to all the students who took the time to participate and provide us with their honest feedback. Your input is crucial in shaping the future of our school and ensuring that we provide an environment that nurtures your growth and development.
As we review the survey results, we will carefully analyze the data and work towards addressing any concerns raised and building upon the strengths highlighted. Our goal is to continuously improve and provide the best possible educational experience for our students.
