TheirCare News

Hi parents, guardians, staff, friends, and welcome to Week 5.
This week we have had a lot of fun. The theme for this week was the World Cup. Over the course of the World Cup games we have seen a lot of interest and conversations about it, so we thought it was time to create a weekly theme about it. To start the week off, TheirCare played a mini soccer game in the TheirCare room while children who were interested in crafts created and designed keychains out of wooden templates. Throughout the middle of the week, we saw children create soccer ball mosaics, create their own soccer ball designs, and even competed in the soccer world cup crossword competition - it was lots of fun. In the mornings we have seen a large number of children wanting to play in the gym, so on most mornings we have kept with the theme and played soccer.
On Wednesday morning we changed it up and we played basketball with over 14 people on the court - it was hectic! It's been great to see children who aren’t confident in sports step outside their comfort zone during the morning sessions, and really give it a go and try to practice and become more confident in soccer and basketball. While these children step outside of their comfort zone, we have also seen many children encouraging these children while they attempt and become more confident in soccer and basketball.
This week’s Pupil of the Week for TheirCare is Dean Pipilikas. Dean has received the Pupil of the Week for always supporting and encouraging younger children while playing group sports. Well done, Dean you should be proud!! 😊😊
This coming Friday the 11th August, TheirCare will be aiming to practice a lockdown drill in the morning and afternoon sessions. We would like to let parents know that when practising we step the kids through each step, and we always make sure they’re aware of what is going on. We also would like to mention that at the end of the practice lockdown, we always take questions and queries and make sure each child is okay and understands what they have just practised. If any parents have any concerns or would like to discuss the practice of the lockdown, please do not hesitate to contact TheirCare or even drop in during the morning and afternoon sessions.
