Engagement Day

Engagement Day 2019

On the 7th of June our school participated in an engagement day which focused on respect for diversity, team work, motivation and building positive relationships. The engagement days have been a direct initiative from student feedback and have resulted in an improvement in our student’s connectedness to school.

This term the year 7 and 8’s participated in many workshops highlighting Indigenous cultural awareness as part of reconciliation week. The Year 9’s focused on team work and also completed online surveys which enhanced their understanding of career pathways.

The Year 12’s were lucky enough to have a motivational session with Glenn Manton, former AFL Premiership player.  Glenn spoke about his many experiences in life and his development as an individual through the many experiences. He spoke to students about what they really value and who they value in life and working to ensure they are focused on doing what they love in life. In the second session Elevate Education came to speak to students about study and revision skills and how they can implement them in their day to day study of Year 12. To finish the day we had a team trivia where students competed against each other for rewards. It was a highly competitive and enjoyable activity.

Overall, the day was a huge success with feedback from students, staff and parents very positive.

Thank you to all students and staff who were involved in the day.
