Daffodil Room

What Happened in February
Hi Everyone,
We have been really excited, focused and involved in our program…
We concluded our community project and are now working on a new topic….”Life Cycle of Dougie our Caterpillar.” We have been noticing the changes that Dougie is going through and what will happen to it next and discussing it during group time.
Most of our activities are based around this topic for example healthy eating, counting up to 10 and fine motor development through tracing and drawing. Our children are also involved in activities that focus on developing their fine motor and problem solving skills through puzzles, drawing, cutting and pasting etc.
We are also teaching children to be responsible and show ownership by looking after the chickens daily. This enables children to show concern and appreciate what’s around them.
Outdoor we are encouraging children to take measured risks and explore out of their comfort zone. This will enable the children to be risk takers and will approach new situations and be confident in different new situations.
We are also involved in a cooking experience once every week and are going to compile our own recipe book to take home. Occasionally children might come home with recipes that we encourage to try at home if you can.
Overall it has been a really productive month and we are progressing towards our goals that have been set in the beginning of their year.
Please do not hesitate to talk/discuss issues with us should you have any concerns and we do welcome any sort of feedback from you to make our practices and program better.
Thanking you for allowing us to be part of your child’s future and learning.
Priya, Pip and Melissa.
