News & Information

Welcome

Welcome families to our February Newsletter. We hope you enjoy the read!

Emergency Communications

YMCA children's Programs has established a new system of sending SMS messages to communicate with families in the event of an emergency. This will enable us to communicate quickly with you about any emergency situation that may affect the service on a day that your child is attending. The SMS will be sent to the Primary Contact for your child's enrolment and will appear on your phone as coming from YMCA. The YMCA will only send messages in this way for critical communications so please ensure you read these messages as soon as you receive it. Please see photo below as an example of how the text will appear on your phone.  If you have any questions please see Crystal.

COVID-19 (coronavirus) Update

We want to reassure all our families that we're closely monitoring the coronavirus situation.

The health and safety of our educators and  families is our number one priority.

As the situation is constantly evolving, the most up to date advice regarding the current outbreak of coronavirus is available at the Australian Government Department of Health website.  We will continue to follow this advise and keep all families updated.

Happy Feet

Our children are really enjoying the Music, movement and fitness class that we offer in the ELC on a Monday with Mr Nathan from Happy Feet. Here is some information around their philosophy.

Holistically healthy children

The company was established in 2007, beginning with just two instructors teaching in four childcare centres. Presently, it has 75 instructors teaching 900 classes with over 12,000 children enrolled each week across Western Australia, Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales. Their aspirations for spreading the company vision of more holistically healthy children has only grown with the ambition to reach more children with an invaluable message – health, joy, learning and confidence are the key.

We Love What We Do And We Know Your Child Will Too.

Our interactive themed adventure classes are packed so full of original music, magic, amazing costumes, games and laughter, it’s actually hard to believe that the children are learning so much.

Taking the concept of play based learning to another level, Happy Feet Fitness prides itself on delivering educational content, positive reinforcement and social development skills in a super fun and exciting class format.

How Convenient…

A fun, educational, fitness and dance programme already right there in your child’s day care centre, now that’s handy!

My Family Lounge

Did you know you can access all your child's observations, room daily Journals as well as complete casual bookings all from the convenience of the My Family Lounge App? The app can be downloaded for free from the App or Google Play Store. Just log in using your mail address and password you used when you completed your enrolment form. If you can't remember your password, click forgot password and you can easily reset these details. If any family is having any issues accessing the App or your Observations or reflections please come see one of us in reception.

Sun Smart

As Sunny season is upon us, Sun Smart recommends that all early childhood education and care services and schools develop and implement a comprehensive sun protection policy to reduce UV exposure and associated risks. Please remember to pack your child’s sun hat! We will be applying sunscreen on all children prior to outdoor play, if you prefer that we use yours please pack this in your child's bag, with his or her name and let the educators in their room know.

Casual Bookings

Our centre is getting busy with spaces in high demand, this means we now have reduced availability for casual bookings.

Casual bookings can be made up to two weeks in advanced. To ensure we are meeting regulatory requirements for educator to child ratio casual bookings will close the night before, Please note that if you bring your child in without making a booking the night before we may not be able to accommodate your child.

Car Parking

A friendly reminder that families do require a Disable Parking Permit to use the Disabled car Park in the front of the building. We do ask all families to be courteous and respectful when parking and refraing from parking in the disable Car Space unless you have a permit for doing so.

Safe Children

Safety of our children is our number one priority both within the service and outside our doors.

Here are some safety reminders:

- Never leave a child alone in a car  or in  the car parks (regardless of their age or length of time)

- Ensure your child is appropriately restrained at all times when traveling in a car.

- Hold your child's hand when walking through car parks or along busy streets.

Last but not least, if you need assistance taking your children to or from your car please just ask.
