Hi parents, guardians, staff, and friends! 

What a fun week and an awesome Term 2 we have had together. 

Last week we had a sea creature competition and we had four winners. Our winners were, Alice De Souza Rigg, Jasper Moodie, Adem Seymen, and Matilda Snape. All four winners showed us their awesome creativity and wowed us with the imagination of sea creatures. Well, Done! 

For the last week of term, our theme for the week is Art Week. This week’s competition is to create a silly or funny cartoon or animal that shows the student’s imagination. So far, we have had at least 30 entries into the competition and have already seen some amazing creations. Good Luck to all that enter! This week as we wrap up Term 2 we look to continue to enjoy our last week together as some children do not attend the holiday program. This week we have been utilizing the gym on some mornings, playing soccer in the TheirCare room, Cheese Toastie Friday is coming up. Since the competition has been running this week, we have also seen a lot of students bring out their creative side with a lot of asking to create and draw more drawings, especially in the mornings. It was great to see the art and drawing table full in the mornings with children having fun while engaging with other students. 

This week’s Star of the Week for TheirCare is Emma Sutton who has been continuing to brave at before-school care and improving in confidence over the whole term by attending TheirCare by herself and sitting and enjoying time with older children. Well done, Emma! We are so proud to see how far you have come this term!!

This week we also had pupil free day which was a long day of fun. We were lucky to have 58 children with a lot of regulars that attended but also saw some old faces. It was very cold at the start of the day, so we started the day off in the TheirCare Room and the gym. After lunch, we went outside for some play but then came back inside to play some skittles in the gym and play mini games in the TheirCare Room. We also watched The Emoji Movie and had pasta for afternoon tea. 

It is hard to believe the School Holiday Program starts Monday. From visiting Bounce, going to Inflatable World, Funtopia and going to see the new movie Elementals, we are going to have some fun!! We would like to remind families that it being the Winter Holiday Program it can be quite cold some days and we urge all children to come with a jacket for outside play. We also encourage families to ensure that their children’s lunchbox is nut free as TheirCare has a lot of children that attend holiday programs with allergies. Thank you for your understanding!

Thank you to the families and school staff for a great 9-week Term together. Although it has been a short term, we have still had a lot of fun and the TheirCare team is thankful for your support and are excited to see what the rest of the year holds.
