MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS
Steve Quinn
Middle Sub School Leader
There is never a dull moment in the Middle Sub School! Excursions, Incursions, SRC, Be Bold Be Heard Forum (more on this to come), upcoming Leadership Camp, and much, much, more. Students are getting involved and staying motivated which is great to see and are setting the scene for a strong finish to our first term.
Launching into Year 9 Incursion Day
Friday 4 March was our Launching into Year 9 Incursion Day which included various workshops and guest speakers relating to areas relevant to their age group that the students rotated around. Some of the stations included Leadership guest speakers, goal setting, team building, Alumni talks and tribal drumming. The feedback from students was very positive and a great time was had by all. A huge thank you must go to all who helped organise and run the event.
Parent /Teacher Conferences - Progress Reports
Parent/Teacher conferences will be conducted in the last week of term on Tuesday 5 April. Bookings will be open on Compass soon so be sure to get on and organise a time to speak with your child’s teachers.
The next round of Progress Reports will be released next week. As always we encourage you to look at these with your child and discuss any successes or concerns they identify. It is strongly advised that if your child receives a low overall GPA score (below 2) that you book a time to discuss this with the relevant Year Level Coordinator or Sub School Leader at the P/T Conferences.
Athletics Day
Next Monday 28 March is our Athletics day at Landy Field. This event provides a great opportunity to take a break from the classroom, cheer on our teammates, participate in some fun events and engage in some competitive banter! Students need to come dressed in their team's colours and ready to get involved if they want to earn enough points to get their House over the line.
