Dear Families, firstly I would like to say Eid Mubarak and I hope that this edition of the Taqwa Times finds you all safe, happy and well.

It will soon be time for the school holidays. This Friday 8th April will be the last day for Term 1. Term 2 will begin on Wednesday the 27 April. We will have 2 days for Eid holidays which will fall around the 3rd of May. More information will be provided when we are able to confirm.

Next term there will be a couple of changes for students in Years 5/6 and Kindergarten who will moving their classrooms to our new building (pictured above). This will provide them with more space and the chance for some great peer support lessons in which the older children will be able to mentor our youngest school students.

We have also welcomed some new staff to our School this year.

Our new Islamic Studies Teacher is Mr Salihu Ibrahim. Salihu has many years of teaching experience within the university sector. He loves teaching and has adapted well to his role at Taqwa School.

Mrs Mays Mahmood has joined us in the front office. She will be available of the holiday period for uniform purchases and for EFTPOS payments of school fees.

Ms Kavita Gorga has just begun as a Learning Support Assistant. She will be working in the Kindergarten and Year 5/6 classes. Kavita has almost completed a Master of Teaching Degree and can speak 4 different languages.
