A prayer from Bishop Kennedy

The Most Reverend Michael Kennedy, the Bishop of Armidale, has shared with us a prayer to the Patroness of the Armidale Diocese, Mary. In a letter, Bishop Kennedy wrote:

In this time when our churches are closed it is important that we all remain united in prayer entrusting our lives and cares with confidence to God’s unfailing Providence. I invite you to each day pray the following Prayer to Mary the Patroness of the Diocese as we beseech her intervention for our protection.

Our Lady Help of Christians, Patroness of Australia 

Our Lady of the Rosary, Patroness of the Diocese of Armidale 

Mother of God and Queen of the Angels

We fly to you today as your beloved children.

We ask you to intercede for us with your Son,

as you did at the wedding in Cana. 

Pray for us, loving Mother, and gain for our Diocese,

for our nation and for the world,

and for all our families and loved ones,

the protection of your Son Jesus and of all his holy angels,

that we may be spared the worst of this illness. 

For those already afflicted,

we ask you to obtain the grace of healing and deliverance.

Hear the cries of those who are vulnerable and fearful,

wipe away their tears and help them to trust.

May your Son deliver from all evil.
