Dear Sacred Heart Community

Helen Butler and Deborah Vietri Visits

At Sacred Heart, we are very aware of the responsibility all parents have entrusted in us, to provide the best education possible for their children. In an effort to always be striving for improved learning and teaching programs, we have employed respected educational consultants Deborah Vietri and Helen Butler to work with our teachers this year. Deborah  is working with the teachers in the area of inquiry, and looking at ways to make the learning experiences for our students stimulating and relevant, with an opportunity for students to pursue areas of interest. Helen is working with the staff on developing a learning and teaching methodology, that empowers our students to take more ownership of their learning. We believe these are two exciting initiatives for our students and teachers.

Ria and Friends Help the Bush Fire Victims

On the first day back at school this year, I was approached by Year Four student Ria, asking if she could have a bake sale to raise money for the bush fire victims. This week, all Ria and her family's hard work was rewarded, when she raised over $175 for those affected by the fires. Congratulations Ria and thank you to her family who supported her in this great initiative.

Very Snuggly Quilt Program for the Royal Children's Hospital.

Please see Denise's report in the Classroom News section of this newsletter, about our students being involved in a great service for the sick children hospitalised at the Royal Children's Hospital. As detailed by Denise, our students have been invited to create quilts for the children; quilts that give these children so much joy and comfort when faced with the challenges of being in hospital. Thank you Denise for organising this.

Enrolments For 2021

Enrolments for the Year Prep class of 2021 are now open. If you have any family, friends or neighbours, who are looking for a school for their son or daughter to commence their education in 2021, please let them know about our school. Our Open Day is on the 19th March. I am also very happy to take individual tours when prospective families contact the school.

Welcome Allie

Welcome to our new student Allie, who has joined our Year Prep class. Allie commenced at Sacred Heart last Monday week and like all our new students this year, has been made to feel most welcome by our students. We are very happy to have you in our school Allie

School Photos

School photos will be taken on Wednesday 25th March. Order forms will be given to all students this Friday. Please look out for these forms, as they will have all the details on how to order the photos before the 25th March. 

Parents and Friend's Easter Raffle

Our traditional Easter Raffle will take place in the last week of school, with tickets being sold after school by our school leaders. A big thank you to Stefanie Ricardo for sourcing the eggs for the raffle.
