Principal News
As you may be aware, I am currently on leave. I am not in 'COVID isolation' but am immunosuppressed due to having some major surgery, which requires 6 weeks recovery. I am in daily, close communication with Sally and staff and continue to be impressed with their professionalism and commitment to high quality education.
During these challenging times, I urge families to continue to be positive role models and supportive of one another.
I am missing everyone and look forward to seeing you all in Term 2.
Stay safe.

Hygiene Safety
CSPS continues to prioritise the health and safety of the community. We are being provided with the latest advice from the Department of Education to ensure our school practices align with keeping the school community safe. This includes:
- extra attention to good hand and respiratory hygiene practices,
- encouraging classes to work outdoors if possible
- opening windows
- limiting large group learning situations as much as possible.
The Department has today ordered extended and additional cleaning to commence in all schools through to the end of term.
This extended and additional cleaning will focus on the cleaning of high touch points throughout the school. Cleaning will happen progressively throughout the day to ensure that the risks of transmission are reduced.
This will involve increased disinfectant and detailed cleaning of the common touch points, including washbasins, all entry and exit points and shared surfaces including chairs and desks.
In the event of a school closure and during the Term 1 school holidays, families can communicate with Monique Corcoran (PRINCIPAL) via the school’s email cranbourne.south.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au
This email will be monitored on an ongoing basis during this period.
School Events
As precautionary measures we have seen the cancelling, postponing or re-scheduling of many school events, including Book Fair, Smile Squad dental service and House Cross Country; just to name a few. Please be reassured that we will work on finding alternative dates for these events as soon as possible.
Transition to Remote Learning
CSPS is well prepared to support families in the event that we are required to make a transition to remote learning through ensuring resources, advice, guidance and supports are available.
A Transition to Remote Learning Plan has been developed in the event of the following situations:
Voluntary isolation by families
Decrease of school instruction time
Closure of schools
A Transition to Remote Learning Plan will include options for both online learning and learning without the need for devices.
Please note at this point in time, there is NO official notification that schools will be closed.
Below is a link to the CSPS Transition to Remote Learning Plan.
A copy of the Transition to Remote Learning Plan will be sent home with the eldest child in the family on Friday 20th March. If your family/child has already self isolated and requires a paper, please obtain from the office.
Child Safe
Standard 4: Screening, supervision, training and other human resource practices that reduce the risk of child abuse
Risk Assessments
CSPS staff ensure that risk management processes are integrated into all planning
and implementation activities for school events, incursions and in- school activities.
Each event is scrutinised by a team of staff to ensure that all risks are assessed and managed by a risk management process in accordance with DET guidelines.
Risk is defined as the effect (positive or negative) of uncertainty on objectives. Risk management includes:
the identification, analysis, assessment, and prioritisation of risks to the achievement of objectives
the coordinated allocation of resources to minimise, monitor, communicate and control risk likelihood and/or impact, or to maximise the realisation of opportunities, and
the coordination of activities to direct and control risks to the achievement of objectives.
Assistant Principal notification
upcoming leave
In Term 2, I will be taking long service leave and will be returning to CSPS in Term 3. In my absence the Leadership team and staff will be stepping into the various components of an Assistant Principal role. I thank the staff for this support and look forward to seeing the school community in Term 3.
Note: This leave was arranged 6 months ago.
