Indigenous Bedtime stories week

The 3/4 literacy this week has been inspired by Indigenous Bedtime Story week.  These are short stories from the Wiradjuri people.  Their country extends from the Murray River northeast to Bathurst, west to Dubbo and back south through Wagga Wagga, Griffith and the Riverina.

The Wiradjuri used the night sky to determine seasons.  Their constellations were not created by the stars but rather by the gaps between them.  The Milky way was called the sky river.

The 3/4's created a sky river with gaps of native wildlife.

Look through the gallery and see if you can spot the animals in the gaps.
